Crystal Lake South High School opened in 1978, serving students from Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills, and is located approximately 45 miles northwest of Chicago.
Crystal Lake South High School consistently ranks among the top high schools nationally and in Illinois, and offers students a comprehensive 9-12 grade education with more than 200 courses to choose from.
In athletics, the Crystal Lake South Gators compete in the Valley Division of the Fox Valley Conference, offering students the chance to be part of a strong tradition of teamwork and school pride. Most recently, the school has captured state titles in boys’ soccer (2018, 2023), wrestling (2019), and baseball (2017).
Beyond sports, students can explore their interests through a vibrant performing and fine arts program, along with more than 40 clubs and activities available. Students are given unique ways to get involved, connect, and make the most of their high school experience.
